Visa Notes & Fees

Required Documents

• Passport: Original passport with a validity of more than six months with minimum two blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Photocopy of all the used pages of the passport.
  • Copy of the last Colombian Visa, if applicable.
  • Attach all your old passports, if any.
• Colombia Visa Application Form: Visa application form has to be filled online.

  • All documents as per the checklist, along with the first and last page of passport and photograph, have to be uploaded online.
  • Supporting documents should not exceed 8 MB for one application.
• Photo Specification: Three recent passport-size photographs with matt or semi-matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border. Size: 35mm x 45mm.
  Please Note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned/stapled, and should not have been used in any previous visa.
• Covering Letter: A letter from the legal representative of the company stating applicant's name, designation, passport number, purpose and who will bear the expenses. The letter should be addressed to: The Visa Officer, Embassy of Colombia, New Delhi.
• Invitation Letter:
  • Invitation letter from the inviting company/host on letterhead in Spanish language mentioning applicant's name, passport number, purpose and duration of visit, and a brief description of the activity the applicant is going to do in Colombia.
  • Inviting company/host should state that they take full responsibility for the applicant's entry and exit from Colombia.
  • Letter should be signed by the authorized signatory using a blue pen and addressed to "The Consular, Embassy of Colombia, New Delhi".
  • Copy of the Registration Certificate of the Colombian company.
• Recommendation Letter: Recommendation letter through recognized Chamber of Commerce in India.
• Financials:
  • Personal ITR for the last 3 years.
  • Original personal and company bank statement for the last 6 months, duly signed and stamped by the bank.
  • Six months' salary slips.
• Occupational Viability:
  • Company registration certificate/Certificate of Incorporation in India.
  • Certificate of Existence of the company issued by a competent authority such as Chamber of Commerce or Export Promotion Council.
  • Brief company profile.
  • Articles of Memorandum, in case the applicant is Director/MD.
  • Proof of proprietorship/partnership, in case the applicant is Proprietor/Partner in a firm.
  • Import/Export license, if applicable.
• Hotel Booking: Nil
• Ticket: Confirmed Ticket
• Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
• Authority Letter: Authority Letter is required on a stamp paper authorizing Prem/Sanjeeth for submission and collection of the passport from the embassy.

Online Processing Procedure

After completing the online processing, a pre-approval email will be received. The documents will be submitted to the embassy along with the pre-approval email after payment of the embassy processing fee.

Once the embassy checks the documents and finds them in order, they will send the final approval email. After receiving the final approval, the passport has to be submitted to the embassy for stamping along with the visa fees.

Visa Waiver

Indian nationals do not require a Colombian Visa for a stay of up to 90 days, provided they comply with one of the following conditions:

1. Hold Type C (less than 90 days) or Type D (more than 90 days) Schengen Visa, or hold any type of US Visa except C-1 Transit Visa.
2. Hold a resident permit in any of the Schengen member states or in the United States of America.

Visa Categories

Under the new Colombian visa regulation, visas are divided into the following categories:

1. Visitor (V): Business Meetings / Conference / Trainings, Tourist, Transit, Student and Short-term Work Permit.
2. Migrant (M): Long-term visa (more than two years).
3. Resident (R): Resident permit.

Important Notes

1. YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) is required for travelers over 1 year of age arriving from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission. It is mandatory at the time of travel.
2. Applicant must complete the visa application within 15 days from the date of starting the online procedure.
3. Applicants will have to visit the Embassy for a personal interview within 7 days from the date of the interview call.
4. Applicant's passport must be valid until the date of return from Colombia.
5. Embassy will issue a sticker visa to applicants approved for a stay of more than 90 days. Validity can be up to 2 years, as per the Consular decision.
6. If the applicant is issued a visa for more than 90 days, they must register themselves in Colombia within 15 days from the date of entry on their first trip.
7. For visa stamping cases, processing time will be approximately 15 days.
8. Applicant can stay in Colombia for a maximum of 180 days in a calendar year.

• Hotel Booking: Nil
• Ticket: Confirmed air ticket with ticket number.
• Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
• Authority Letter: Authority Letter is required on a stamp paper authorizing Prem/Sanjeeth for submission and collection of the passport from the embassy.

Additional Notes

2. After online processing, a pre-approval email will be received. Documents will be submitted to the embassy along with the pre-approval email after payment of the embassy processing fee.

  Online Visa Application
• Photo Specification: Three recent passport-size photographs with matt or semi-matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border. Size: 35mm x 45mm.
• Covering Letter: Letter from the legal representative of the company stating name, designation, passport number, purpose and who will bear the expenses. Addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Colombia, New Delhi.
• Invitation Letter: Invitation letter from agent in Colombia stating the seaman's name, nationality, date of birth, passport number and rank on the ship.
• Financials:
  • Personal ITR for the last 3 years.
  • Bank statement for the last 6 months.
  • Six months' salary slips.
• Company Certificate: Certificate of Existence of the Company issued by a competent authority such as Chamber of Commerce or Export Promotion Council.
• Letter of Guarantee: Letter of guarantee from the shipping company.
• Seaman's Record Book: Valid seaman's record book.
• CDC: Copy of CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate).
• Appointment Letter/Contract: Required.
• Ticket: Confirmed air ticket.
• Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
• Authority Letter: Authority Letter is required on a stamp paper authorizing Prem/Sanjeeth for submission and collection of the passport.

• Invitation Letter: Invitation letter from Colombia by the invitee taking responsibility for the applicant's stay and purpose of visit.
• Proof of Accommodation: Hotel confirmation.
• Ticket: Confirmed air ticket.
• Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
• Authority Letter: Authority Letter is required on a stamp paper authorizing Prem/Sanjeeth for submission and collection of the passport.

• Covering Letter: Letter from the legal representative of the company stating name, designation, passport number, purpose and who will bear the expenses. Addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Colombia, New Delhi.
• Contract/Contract Summary: Completed, signed and authenticated by the parties, mentioning the object of the contract, duration, terms of engagement, salary, post and functions.
• The contract must specify that the employer will undertake the expenses of return to the applicant's country of origin or last residence, where applicable.
• Corporate Existence: Valid document proving corporate existence, if the employer is a company, issued within three months prior to the visa application.
• Company Financials: Company accounts or tax return may be requested to demonstrate economic solvency.
• Individual Employer: If the contracting party is an individual, economic solvency must be shown, with income of more than 10 minimum monthly salaries.
• Ministry of Social Protection Certification: Certification stating that the applicant's incorporation respects the required proportion between Colombian and foreign workers.
• Professional Qualification: If the professional activity is not regulated, the applicant should provide the required professional qualification, duly authenticated/legalized or apostilled.
• Experience Letter: For other positions, a letter from the employer certifying the applicant's suitability based on experience may be required.
• Ticket: Confirmed Air Ticket.
• Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
